Monday, October 3rd- blog posting 3

Think about the following statement: You can tell a lot about a person by the neighborhood in which he or she lives. Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not? Explain your response with one example from your life.

After responding to this question, read at least one other classmate's blog post and write a constructive response to it.

No, because if you base there personality on where they came from, then your stereotyping them. Like me, I came from Chicago, and I don't act like it, and if you had to guess you probley wouldn't say I came from there. Lots of famous people come from places where we stereotype them and slums or "hoods" but just because someone comes from there doesn't mean anything less of them like if they came from a richer place. Just because someone didn't grow up in a good or rich neighborhood doesn't mean there a bad person, and you shouldn't stereotype them as.

I disagree with this statement for the sheer fact that that IS a negative stereotype. Just because a person lives in a bad neighborhood doesn't mean that the person is bad too.

But is there any truth to this stereotype?

Anonymous said...

yeah, because sometimes people from places like that are bad, but just because some are doesn't mean everyone is

Anonymous said...

no because a person could have came from a really nice neighborhood and could be really nice person then move to a bad neighborhood.

Anonymous said...

i disagree just cause you have live in the hood does not me you have to be bad its just how you want to live

no because u may judge them badly for living in a bad neighborhood and they could be very friendly people and they could have rented a house in a bad neighborhood on accident an they didn't know about the bad neighborhood, then when u say your sorry and u didn't know they wont want to talk to u

No, I don't think statement is true. I remember when I was little, We lived in the Ghetto in Cinncinnatti. We had a neighbor, that was always kind to us. She baked so we got alot of banana bread. Even tho she lived in the crappiest house on the block, she was the nicest women on the block. So therefore, It doesn't matter where you live. It matters about your personality.

Autumn...and then??

No i disagree because if a very nice person is living in a bad neighborhood and people would think she/he was a bad person and it end up being a good person they would feel stupid

Anonymous said...

I disagree with this statement also, because maybe thats all they could afford. Its isn't necessarily there fault they live in a certain neighborhood, so you shouldn't judge them by where they live.

So Dakota...it's all about a personal choice people make?

@dakota bradney
I agree

btw, I was the one who lived in cinncinnatti- Laura Peddicord

i dont think that every one acts the way that they would from where they came from, every one has different personalities and act out those personalities from the person they are

Anonymous said...

No you cant tell how a person is by the nabor hood they live in that would be steriotyping them. One time i lived in a apartment building and everyone thought i was poor but we were only living there because we couldnt find a house

Anonymous said...

and you wouldn't know what that person would be like until you got to know them...

Anonymous said...

No i disagree because if a very nice person is living in a bad neighborhood and people would think she/he was a bad person and it end up being a good person they would feel stupid about judging a person

I disagree with this statement because you could live in the biggest poop whole ever and be nicer than people that don't live in a big poop whole.
Like if you live in Gary ( Gary a pretty bad place) where theres always crime going on and you could be the most law abiding citizen in the state.

Anonymous said...

No, because if you lived in a a bad neighborhood doesn't mean there a bad person. Also if you poor neighborhood doesn't mean your poor, it could mean your saving money or just don't want a big house.

mmatysak said...

Okay, so you live in a bad neighborhood and you DON't turn out "bad." Can't I still determine something about you?

Anonymous said...

dakota you never lived in the hood

Anonymous said...

i agree with liz just because you live somewhere thats bad it doesn't mean your bad to.

Anonymous said...

i strongly agree with Kourtney cause they might not have very good paying jobs and cant get a good house to live in from the low paying fobs and some people have high paying jobs cause they got a good education

Anonymous said...

You can not tell a lot about a person by their neighbor because It is not their fault for living next to the person.

Anonymous said...

i agre about the poop whole ever and gary is a very bad place kieren

You could live in a bad neighborhood and still be good, you could even live in a good neighborhood and be bad. It just depends on your personality or the person you want to be.

Anonymous said...

I disagree because a person may have came from an awful neighborhood but still be a good person because of the way that they were raised.

Anonymous said...

Angel Smith, I dont agree with this statement because you shouldn't judge someone because where they came from you should get to know someone before you judge them

Anonymous said...

devin just cause i have never lived in the hood doesnt mean i dont know what it is like in the hood

I disagree with this statement. My uncle lives in South Bend where all the "gangs" live, and he's not a bad person at all. He's been living there only for a few months and he has already been knocked out and mugged when his little boy was sleeping the the car seat in his car.

I do not agree with this. For example, just because someone lives in a town that others may consider "poor" doesn't mean they are mean. Also, just because someone lives in a "rich" town doesn't mean they are snooty like some people may think.

i agree with liz....

Kourtney, I agree. A person from a horrible place but still be a good person or vice versa.

Anonymous said...

Deonna: No, because some people can be rude, but not all people. So don't let people spy on you, and some people from alot places can be rude and nice

Anonymous said...

Liz (Igrapist), I agree.

Anonymous said...

i agree with kourtney if they are poor and they cant afford to live in a nice place

I agree with the people who said that you can't judge a person by where he is living. (:

Anonymous said...

i agree with lizz just cause you live in a bad place that doesnt make you all bad.

Anonymous said...

No, because you don't know if the neighborhood is loud or quiet. My family is mostly quiet unless we are having a party or something then we get loud sometimes.

Anonymous said...

Deonna, I agree because I used to live by a rude person but now I live by nice people.

There have traditionally been difficulties with recycling technology for general purpose (non-rechargeable) batteries, as efficient separation and collection of the many different kinds of battery is difficult. Like in other batteries battery bar is also available in accurate batteries for monitoring the status of the battery to know whether it is giving good qualitative performance to its users or not. These small cells can produce a staggering amount of voltage that can range from just above 1 volt to just below 4 volts of electricity, which is far higher than their alkaline counterparts.
